Michael Jai White is an American actor, writer, producer and martial artist. He was born in Los Angeles, California, the second youngest of four children. He entered acting in 1989 at the age of 16 when he won the role of Mike Seaver on the television show Family Ties. After Family Ties was cancelled in 1993, White made his film debut in Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (1994) as well as starring in John Singleton's Higher Learning (1995)
White has appeared in over 70 films including The Fast and the Furious (2001), Bloodsport (1988), Mortal Kombat (1995), The Fifth Element (1997) and The Matrix Reloaded (2003). He also starred in the television series Renegade, which was cancelled in 2008 after one season. White is currently starring in the action movie Black Dynamite.
